|
|
When it comes down to it, if you’re keen on consuming dry herbs then vaping’s a great way to do it stealthily; to do it discretely. And that’s because deploying a vape pen, e-cig or personalised mod to vape dry herbs can, indeed, if you’re smart, help reduce that tell-tale dry herb aroma when you’re vaping the stuff – a big one-up then on using a standard combustible as you might normally do.
Many vaping enthusiasts might even go as far as to that dry herb vaporisers have almost entirely eliminated the oh-so recognisable scent that’s associated with smoking dry herbs. Yet, only if as a dry-herb-vaper, you’re sensible and think ahead when vaping this very specific type of organic vape juice…
How a device heats dry herbs
When it comes to vaporiser technology in dry herb vaporises, you’re basically talking two different kinds – conduction heating and convection heating. The former’s great for generating a strong scent as it ensures the dry herbs in full contact with the heating element itself.
Yes, it’s true; deploying a vaporiser that functions thanks to conduction heating does mean that you’ll get a scent that tastes a wee bit smoky, but you shouldn’t be worry – in no way does the vaporiser actually burn the herb. By contrast then, convection heating in a vaporiser operates by making use of hair; it’s raison d’être being to more subtly heat the herb; thus, resulting in a lighter, non-smoky scent.
Discrete vaping? Generally, yes
Yes, don’t worry; vaping dry herbs is a discrete practice, all right, which means it’s entirely worry-free. Thanks to the rich consistency of your e-cig’s water vapour, the scented terpenes involved in every hit (taken into the lungs and then breathed out into the open air) are able to dissipate rapidly and efficiently.
And that means the room in which you’re vaping – or, indeed, the outside space you’ve chosen for a spot of vaping, however close it may be to any non-vapers – is not going to fill up with vapour of the dry herb scent (any more than it might were you instead vaping, say, VG eliquid); certainly not in any kind of an anti-social way.
All that said, though; do be aware that should you find anyone’s standing right next to you during your dry-herb-vaping then it will, admittedly, be more than likely they’ll at least pick up on the aroma. The lesson here then is, nonetheless, to be mindful of where you are and the people around you when you set out to vape dry herbs.
Can you minimise the smell?
Yes, it is possible. To reduce the risk of the smell giving away your vaping and just what you’re vaping (should you not want people to know), you might first of all try turning down your device’s power a little and content yourself with having slightly smaller drags on your e-cig or mod; why? It’ll ensure smaller and so less aromatic clouds of vapour.
Second, to keep the smell down and your vaping discrete, remember to keep your vaporiser clean; the easier your device is to disassembe the easier and quicker and more efficient it’ll be to clean it. That way you’ll keep down those dry herb terpenes from building up in the vapour path, so they’re reheated every time you fire up your e-cig/ mod for a dry-herb-vaping session. In short then; think before you vape! |
