Alhambra: An excellent fit for the style of this site. |

I agree. Goa would work very well in PBW if a player could make all three actions in the same turn. I remember I read somewhere that this is how it was originally designed by Dorn, and it was changed during development in order to reduce downtime. But I have no idea what other changes would be necessary to re-balance the game, and in any case it would be different than 'standard' Goa.
I'm a bit surprised by your numbers about Amun-Re: it would seem that 180 turns in 5-players is too high, but the game works extremely well.
Now, if someone could figure out how many turns are needed for Princes of Florence... |

Taking all three actions at once would certainly help. If decide to do Goa we'll have to see how that would play.

I think the Amun Re numbers seem higher than one might expect because of all the little extra things like making offerings, taking rewards and collecting income. Also, in my calculations I estimated the number of player-turns for auctions at 2N per round, which is probably on the high side for 5 players. |

Oasis or Alhambra ? Well, if I can only have one vote then Oasis just sneaks it for me, but only because I'm more likely to play Alhambra in real life (my usual play-group is 6 players, Oasis only supports 3-5) |

Numbers of player turns should definitely be a factor in consideration. Some quick estimates:
Maharaja
2-player: 45
3-player: 70
4-player: 95
5-player: 120
Primordial Soup
3-player: 100
4-player: 130
Samurai
random setup (advanced setup)
2-player: 35 (55)
3-player: 50 (80)
4-player: 70 (110)
Torres
2-player: 25
3-player: 30
4-player: 40
All these seem pretty reasonable for game length. Anyone care to estimate for the other games in the poll? |

About 55 turns according to my completed game. There are more completed games if you want to count them. http://www.fwtwr.com/fwtwr/princes_florence/index.htm
The auction used is a simutaneous english proxy auction like on ebay. Thus it only take one turn to auction off an item.

Since Alhambra and Torres is already PBWed, why not do a game that is not already PBW implemented?

although i haven't gotten into that site I do think it benefits the gaming community to pbw something new. I really like San Marco (consider me a SM lobbyist).

It only counts if you can figure out the site and actually play I have been trying for months (on & off) to figure out that site with no luck - why can't everything be as easy as SBW? |

Age of Steam
no, wait.. Struggle of Empires
no, no, Age of Steam..
arrrgghhh
ok, given that it's easier for me to get a face-to-face game of AoS than it is for SoE I'll vote for SoE... (although Dune is also VERY tempting) |

Definitely Age of Steam. But I don't think Mr. Borer would ever agree to something like that... _________________ "The problem with the global village is all the global village idiots." -Paul

So many good choices. I went with San Marco, but consider this a write-in vote for Entdecker, too. |

For simplicity and clarity I'm trying to have everyone get just one vote. Makes the choosing a lot tougher! |

Caylus would not make a good game for this site. I think that Traumfabrik, Maharaja, Australia, Mexica or Industria are very good options. |
