Anyone can create the game - use the exact name (eg Season 4 Div 12 Game #10) and put the players names in the comments section. (Opening two tabs and using cut/paste makes it easy to create games.) The password for all games is tournament.

All players have 5 games.

I would like all games to be completed by 2 April, so we can move on to season 5.

It takes a reasonable amount of effort to run these leagues - which I am quite happy to do. The most effort is in chasing up players to join/create their games - so a plea - it would be most helpful for me if players could create any games that have not yet been created when they come to join their games.

As an incentive to quick play and to give those who finish early something to compete in while they wait for the next season the first nine players to finish two games will be eligible for the 'season four cup'. If two players reach two games finished at the same time it will be whoever finished their first game earlier. If still not broken it will be based on whoever finished lower in season three.

The 'cup' will consist of three one game semi finals with the three winners (ties broken after pyramids and stones, by whoever has the province nearer the start of the alphabet after turn 6) going into a one game final.

The semi final draws will be random, but with the proviso that players from different divisions will be kept apart as far as possible.

Finally, as some games in season three have not finished within the required timescale I have to decide whether to award yellow cards.

The players who caused the problem in divisions 6 and 8 are not involved this season, but in division 10 I will award gische a yellow card and in division 12, both Beast and Maccheek will receive a yellow card.

(If anyone is awarded two yellow cards they will be suspended from further seasons - hopefully those on yellow cards will be able to meet the six week deadline this season.) Any yellow cards awarded from previous seasons have now expired.

Yellow carded Sad

Sincere apologies to anyone delayed by me. One of my three player games seems to be dragging on, the others finished in 5 to 16 days though. I guess Beast's and my absences have been out of phase in the other.

I've had connection problems in the UK (last Sunday I first tried to connect at 8am, I finally got connected at 8pm) compounded by an inability to use SBW from work or my work laptop regardless of where connected plus a possibly failing home PC that I don't have time or inclination to fix as I'm moving to Italy next month on a more permanent basis. As a result my average time between turns has fallen slightly.

When in Italy I'm normally online most of the day as I work from home. My only significant downtime therefore is when we are away - which I'm afraid includes a 5 day skiing trip from Saturday. However, as I have more time in Italy than the UK between now and the 2nd April I should be able to finish in time.

I think a yellow card is harsh as I emailed u before my fourteen day holiday advising u of my absence. I'm normally very quick but was on vacation and without Internet access!

Huh. Okay. Not sure what I did there. I didn't think I was taking particularly long to make my moves. It's not like I ever went more than a day or so without taking care of my games, and I usually check the site multiple times per day. If that's not often enough, then so be it.

Please do not be offended if you get a yellow card.

If there is a particular reason for your delay (eg 2 week holiday or combination of holidays with someone else in the division) then it is unlikely to happen again and it will just go away.

However if the delay is just down to general slow play then it may be that you should consider dropping out anyway.

The balancing act I have is to accomodate as many people as possible but not have too long between seasons. Many games are finished within 3 weeks so those players have to wait three weeks for the next season. In season three 9 players, who played in the 'cup', managed to complete 2 (and a half) consecutive games within the six week deadline. Extending the season by a week (say) would delay around 70 people for the benefit of a handful.

I suspect that if we had a poll on the time for a season there would be little appetite for extending it.

Knave you and I will never agree on anything. You are an argumentative little man. I've made my feelings about you before abundantly clear. I was on holiday. I marked myself as absent and emailed Graditus just before I left to advise him out of courtesy as he runs the league; he accepted it, now I'm back. I will play speedily. Nobody died, a few games were held up for two weeks. That should be an end to the issue.
