There are 48 entrants and each player has 5 games.
The top 14 will proceed to the semi finals. In those semi finals the top 3 players will have 3 games each, those finishing in positions 4 to 8 will have 2 games each and those in position 9 to 14 will have 1 game each.
This makes a total of 5 games, and the 5 winners will go through to the final. If there are not five winners the highest placed (from round one) of the player(s) finishing second will also progress to the final.
As usual please create as many games as you can (using cut and paste makes this relatively easy to do). Please use the exact names and put the players in the comments box. Password tournament.

Winner take all? Some points for second through fourth?

Positions are based on number of 1st places, followed by 2nds, 3rds, 4ths and then as a tie breaker, points lost by in losing games. 3 player is the same, but without the 3rds and 4ths.
As an example , here is the latest position in the 4 player semi final

The first number is games played, the second is 1sts, then 2nds etc.
NoMoreCheese is ahead of domster because his one 1st place beats any number of second places.
I did open a thread some time ago about the scoring method - see here
I don't usually bother to check the 'points lost by' tie breaker if it is not relevant for deciding who goes into the next round.
Finally, I pick up the scores every so often and post 'current' tables, so there is no need to post results yourself. |
