Does anyone play all the games on SBW?

Fancy a challenge?

Well I need four players for an eight game challenge - that's Amun Re, Bus, Hacienda ... oh just look at the create game screen.

To make things easy I will choose no variants versions (calling 'end to end' not a variant).

Payton has agreed to join me in this quest, so I now need two more to join us. (If there is more interest I suppose I could turn it into a little tourney).

Sign up here and you might become a Bus addict!

I came to this board because of Amun Re and that's the only game here I own and know how to play. Do you advise any of the others over Amun-Re? Is it worth learning for someone who just wants to decompress from a stressful job every now and then?

I would play except Bus has completely and utterly befuddled me.

I would happily play in an "everything tournament". I regularly play everything except Hoity Toity and Wallenstein - though I have played both of them in the past.

Linda might be interested. I think she still plays all of the games regularly.

This sounds like fun! I know nothing about Bus, though, so would have to read through the rules.

Update: Wow, those are some complicated rules. I'll have to spend some time with them.

Looks like we have a few interested so I will keep the post open for a bit longer.

I will set up a Bus training game (if tphon joins he can give tips!) in the meantime. - Bustrainer password everything

Amun Re is still my favourite game here. It has the highest number of plays (ie current games) and is followed by Hacienda, Santiago and Tikal.

Next best for me is Santiago, and then Tikal. All the games (except Reef which I keep trying and regret once a game has started) seem to be worth the limited amount of effort it takes to learn. Even Hoity Toity, which is essentially just a guessing game, is fun especially when you get a multiple steal!

If I had to recommend one, I would say try Tikal. Remember it doesn't cost a lot and (if you are not in a tourney or a game asking for quick play) then you can play at your own speed as time allows.

I'll give it a try, although I'm fairly horrid at Wallenstein, had given up on Bus, and can't Tikal to save my life.

I need a multiple of 4 if we are to play one of each game (or 2 if we are happy to play 2 of each).

Who is going to end up with the Mask of Shame? Embarassed

I'd join in on this, though I've never tried Bus.

Tikal can be a bit of a brain burner, I dont play it anymore because I kept getting analysis paralysis and found I wasn't enjoying it anymore.

If you want something simple but fun to relax with I'd recommend Hacienda first. There an intrinsic beauty to that game with it's tile laying, herd creation and water placement etc. It's very simple, will take you no more than 2 minutes to learn how to play (ignore variant 1 at first).

Hoity Toity is the simplest but barely worth the time IMO. A *big* step down from Amun Re.

Santiago is a very mathematical game, too dry for me but I have played it a bit before coming to that conclusion.

Shucks, I missed the Bus trainer.

Worse though, I just typed a lengthy explaination of the basis of playing Bus and get told my message was sent to hell, how annoying. Evil or Very Mad

If there is any interest in the most common mistakes let me know and I will retype when I get back.

I am sure there would be interest in an explanation. It might get more people playing generally as it is a bit difficult to work out what is going on in the first few games.
