Sorry G... I'm on a pause right now... Too much work means I was taking my time on some turns and it seemed to be bothering some people.
Nevertheless, if you decide to give byes (straight through to semi-finals/finals) to finalists/tournament winners, and I end up in one of those positions then I'd be happy to play.

Hmm, I can't join this tournament due to an upcoming 2 week vacation (end of Mar/beginning of April - so it's not for another month). Maybe nuno and I can tag-team this one - if I qualify for the next round and it seems likely I'd be bumping up against my vacation in that next round, he can take my seat. Of course this assumes I qualify AND that there're no objections to this arrangement.

As this will only be a nine player tourney, with top three going through to the final, there isn't really a place for a bye. It did not seem unreasonable when a field of 44 was being reduced to 25 to allow one bye into the semis.

On the matter of taking time over some turns I haves some sympathy. If I have a dozen games to play and not enough time to move them all I will play the no brainers (income and scoring) first so it could appear that I was prioritising some games over others. On the other hand, in the current 4 player tournament which started on 8 January, I had finished all my games by 30th January and almost a month later we are still waiting on 2 games to finish. I do not think I was the even the first to finish. It is likely that given the delay we will run into further problems with holidays.

I have decided to reduce the field size in future tournaments to try to mitigate slow play problems.

Since it looks like there's still a space, can I join this one please?

Thanks

I guess the problem might not be one of me... but if another guy(s) like me (not really slow, but slowish on some occasions) is in the same game, I can see how that could delay things....
