I would love to participate. 2 Player Swiss sounds best to me, but will play regardless of what you decide. Just let me know when. Thanks.

It seems all clear now.

The rules. There will be 2-player, normal game competitions and the advancing will go according to the Swiss mode.

I will arrange the pairs and pm the participants about who should open the game. The passwords will always be the same as the game's name.

Take a look at the first post - I'll put down the participants there.

HappyProle: I'm not entirely sure if you were posting from a mere moderator perspective or if you're in the tournament.

Please tell me which interpretation is the correct one.

I'd love to play.

As with all games I play here I promise to leave my super powers at the door, so to speak.

If we're playing Swiss, then any even number works just fine. It doesn't have to be a power of 2.
If you've run Swiss tourneys before, then great. If not, and you'd like some tips, just ask. I don't want to tread on your toes, cuz everyone knows "the best way" to do this, but everyone's "best way" is different!

Another thought, if the numbers stay small (and 11 is "small") then why not run it as a league - everyone plays evryone else. It's not as if we need to play these games one-at-a-time, like in real life...

I'd be happy to play in a league another time, but I'd be disappointed if this turned into one. Also, I can't imagine that everyone would be ok with starting 15+ games of Reef Encounter at once. (I'd certainly rather not.)

casabe (btw., are you from South America?), just like in the other thread I didn't sign you up because of your turn-taking time. In this case you don't fulfill the other requirement (having finished at least one game of Reef Encounter here) neither.

Sorry, maybe another time.

How many rounds would we need for a Swiss system tournament with 16 players? Would 4 suffice?
