I've been thinking that it would be helpful to pick a turn order and then have the game randomly pick a starting player. For example, if we have 4 players where A will check take his turn in the morning, B will take his turn in the afternoon, C will take his turn in the evening and D will take his turn at night. The ideal turn order would be ABCD. But the game can start with player C so that the turn order is CDAB. Basically you're picking the seating order for the game but the game chooses the start player.
Now if the game puts you in ACBD order, then it'll take 2 days per turn instead of 1 turn a day. The worst would be ADCB. That's 3 days per turn. |

Except many games only work with a random or prescribed turn order. _________________ It's not the winning, it's utter annihilation of your opponant that matters. |

Well, there's not much you can do if you're bidding for turn order in a game like Age of Steam or if the turn order keeps changing like in Caylus. But for Amun-Re and Reef Encounter, you'd have picked a seating order in real life and the start player might change, but you go around the table in the same manner. I'm just talking about letting the game's creator arrange the virtual seats to speed up turn taking depending on what time of day the players will log on. |
