I was one of those people who thought that the game could be sped up by making the scoring automatic, since it would always be beneficial to play all your bonus cards.
I was wrong.

If Domster had refrained from playing one of his bonus cards, he would have won. Of course, there was no way for him to know that given that he played third in the scoring, but if he had played last, he would have been in a position to make the appropriate decision.
I still think that harvest/scoring should be simultaneous, but clearly it should not be automatic. |

Is that true, Knave? Each card got me 1 point, so if I had only played 1, I'd have scored 1 point less. I think the only way I could have won was if fred had played a bonus. |

Perhaps I miscounted, but I thought that not playing a card would have left you tied for 2nd most gold at the end, giving you 4 points, one more than the 3 points for the bonus card. |

domster - if you had not played one of your cards, you would have received 4 points for gold, rather than 0. Discounting the 3-point gain for the card would still have netted you 1 point, and the win.
(edit - what knave said!) |

OK yes, as I played them I lost 2 gold points with each, but I guess I would have actually got some gold points back hd I not played one. Damn, I could have won! Well, something to bear in mind when this situation arises again |
