Anyone fancy a 'play to lose game' of Amun Re?
I see some strategy in avoiding Memphis and Abydos, temples and the end of game money bonus.
Of all the games on SBW I think this is the only one that may just work as play to lose, at least as a minor diversion.
If you wish to give it a go please reply below. |

I'd like to try it. It might have some gameplay problems, but it should be fun anyway.
I think in the first auction all the provinces are sold for 21 Gold. |

I think doing that alone would be hilarious. |

Sounds fun!
And since my winning percentage is below 10%, I should "loose" this easily.... |

I'd be willing to give this a shot. There are certainly some strategies to be had.
Some provinces are clearly better than others |

I'll play, as I have only ever won 3 games of anun-re, I feel I may have a very good chance of 'winning' this game! |

Well that's 8 of us.
I am not sure it is a good idea to run a full blown tournament, but perhaps it could be one game each with the losers/winners (you know what I mean) going through to a final.
8 players = 2 x 4 player game with the bottom 2 going into a 4 player final.
9 players = 3 x 3 player game with the loser of each going into a 3 player final.
I'll leave it for a day or so in case anyone else wants to join and for your thoughts on my suggested format. |

What do you think would be the best number of players for these games? |

Well, 5 players ensures that with Memphis/Abydos at least some bricks come into play. Ditto for the temples. The other 10 provinces will be substantially less interesting. |
