You'll hit the mandatory Retirement Age before that happens.

In fact, you hit it in 1875.

That would have been my first choice: 8 teams in the quarter finals, 4 in the semis and 2 in the final; six games per team (3 per player) in each of these rounds, where each player has a different partner (among the team mates) for each game.

I actually find myself liking this idea a lot. I was worried that any scheme that advanced a whole team would require to many games, but this is a very good solution.

Thanks!

The "kicker" rule has been deleted. A 6-game "match" for will be played for each round of Semi/Finals as recommended by Legalu.

Note: Teams in BOLD have completed all 6 games; dark blue highlight = clinched Division; light blue highlight = Division Leader

Although only 6 teams have completed all 6 games in the Qualifying Rounds, most of the divisions winners have been decided, and 2 of the 3 Wildcards look to be locked in.

Division A
With 1 game left to complete, Australia already edges Texas by 1 Advancement point, although the latter are clearly advancing to the Great 8 as a Wild Card team.

Division B
Team Italy holds a precarious 2-point lead over Brazil and must hope that the Flavio-led Brazils get waxed in their two remaining games to take the division. Both teams, however, appear destined to advance to the Great 8.

Division C
New England have dominated this Division in Belichick-like fashion. We can neither confirm nor deny the allegations that we have been recording the games electronically. Very Happy
Germany, with only 3 games completed, may yet win a post-season berth.

Division D
Finland emerges as the Top Seed in the Great 8, beating out New England by 4 Pyramids!!!
The Greater-Moravian Coalition has an outside chance to make the Great 8 as a Wild Card team.

Division E
Albion - featuring Gaditus, the Prometheus of Amun Re Tournaments - has already defeated WestUS but must hold off challenges from both Great Lakes and Lancashire to claim the Division.

So, it's still possible that WestUS could get the last wildcard spot?

Not sure if the great lakes score is accurate, as we had completed 2 games by Aug 11th and they were both wins (tom vonpotty), so not sure if you counted one as a tie

T_o_m9:

I show you and von potty have completed 2 game:

E28 which you won (3 goals to 1)

and

E26 which was a tie (2 goals to 2)

See the rules again - in the Doubles, first place = 2 goals (not 3 goals, which it's worth in the Singles where you have to defeat 3 opponents without help), the 2nd and 3rd = 1 goal each and 4th place = 0 goals.

In game E26, von potty took first place with 48 points but you finished in 4th place with 25 points, so your team scored 2 goals, as did Albion (taking 2nd and 3rd place). So that's a tie.

Did that scoring change after the tourney started?

No, the only change made to the Rules was to have a 6-game "match" for the Quarter/Semi/Finals instead of just advancing 2 players per team.

The scoring rules have not changed. Changing scoring rules after the tourney had started would be rude, wouldn't it?
